 02.Jul a 05.Jul

As part of its programming, Museu Vale presents in partnership with artist, dancer, and choreographer Gil Mendes, the Afro-Brazilian dance workshop, which will take place between the 2nd and 5th of July in pre-scheduled educational institutions. Starting from theoretical and practical foundations, the activity seeks to understand the plural and multidisciplinary aspects linked to this cultural movement.

Exercises and studies will be presented based on references that are part of the choreographer’s training and the construction of the systematization of Afro dance in Brazil, such as Mercedes Baptista, Nadir Nóbrega, Mestre King, Balé Folclórico da Bahia, and other important names.

The initiative will also feature the participation of percussionist JaySant’, who will accompany the rhythm and dance with the beats of instruments that are present in this art etched in the history of resistance and memory of the black people.

Places are limited, and registrations for educational institutions can be made until July 1st via the email educativo.museu.vale@institutoculturalvale.org.

In its extramural moment, Museu Vale has expanded its activities and geographical limits, promoting exhibitions and educational activities in different spaces, maintaining its legacy of preserving cultural memory always close to the cultural and artistic productions of the state of Espírito Santo.
