In partnership with visual artist, art educator, and storyteller Ione Reis, this edition of Arte na Cidade promotes storytelling sessions of Afro-Brazilian and African stories for children in public schools and community spaces. The activities create sensitive experiences that engage with ancestry, identity, and traditional knowledge, contributing to an anti-racist education.

Following the storytelling, there will be a workshop on creating Black portraits (self-portraits), where literature and art come together to reaffirm the individuality and beauty of each child. The activity pays special attention to skin tones, hair textures, and features, inviting children to see themselves with pride through Afrocentric narratives, strengthening self-esteem and identity.
