“Depois Eu Volto” (I’ll be back later) is a dance-manifesto that emerges from the gaps between memory, absence, and ancestry. The performance proposes a dive into the experience of a Black woman who returns to herself after a long journey of silence. A former flag bearer in Carnival, she revisits her symbolic drawers, spaces where costumes, wounds, dreams, and knowledge rest, to retell her story through her body. Between the drumming and the silence, the body on stage summons collective memories of women who sustain the festival but are rarely celebrated outside of it. Here, upon her return, she reinvents herself as queen, occupies the center of the avenue, and raises her own flag again.
