The Museu Vale, in partnership with the Museum of the Portuguese Language, brings to Espírito Santo the exhibition “African Languages ​​that Make Brazil,” at the Anchieta Palace, the seat of the State Government. The exhibition, curated by musician and philosopher Tiganá Santana, features the participation of artists from Espírito Santo: Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Natan Dias, and Jaíne Muniz.

The workshop, “Routes and Detours,” developed by art educator Gleyce Kelly Heitor in partnership with the Vale Museum’s educational department, addresses language as body, memory, cosmology, and resistance, and is aimed at school groups and educational institutions. Through artistic devices and everyday experiences, the workshop proposes a dialogue about the journeys that brought African languages ​​to Brazil, and about the detours that ensured their permanence, even in the face of colonial attempts at erasure.
