The Documentation and Memory Center of the Vitória-Minas Railway (CDM) brings together museum, archival, and bibliographic collections that help preserve and tell the story of the railway, Vale, and the Museu Vale itself. This process began in 1969, with donations from former Vale employees, and was consolidated with the inauguration of the museum in 1998. Over the years, the collection went through stages of organization, research, and processing, until the Documentation Center opened to the public in 2006. Since then, the CDM has been constantly evolving, receiving new objects and documents, either through donations or through active searches within the company. Today, it is an important research center where the memory of the Vitória-Minas Railway is preserved, studied, and shared with the public.
