Museu Vale during the 24th National Museum Week – Museums Uniting a Divided World

The Museu Vale, in its current outdoor phase, is undergoing a period of preparation in 2026 for its new headquarters, currently under construction in the Port of Vitória, a cultural and historical landmark of Espírito Santo, which will occupy Warehouse 4 and the adjacent building.

This process broadens the institution’s dialogue with new realities, adding to its trajectory and more than 27 years of activity in the state.

In this context, the Museu Vale proposes, for the 24th National Museum Week of Ibram, whose theme is Museums Uniting a Divided World, a series of dialogues between different audiences, with the aim of bringing generations closer, strengthening the community and connecting cultures through the exchange of experiences in the social and aesthetic fields.


May 18th (Monday)

Between Territory and Museum: New Headquarters of the Museu Vale in the Port of Vitória

The Museu Vale is holding a listening session with residents of downtown Vitória about their expectations regarding the institution’s new headquarters, currently under construction in the Port of Vitória. For this meeting, architects Angela Gomes and Patrícia Bragatto have been invited to contribute reflections on territory, city, and the project for the new Museu Vale headquarters.

Time: 4 PM to 6 PM

Angela Gomes: Holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1986), a specialization in Geoprocessing (1993), a master’s degree in Arts (2015), and a PhD in Geography (2021), all from the Federal University of Espírito Santo. She is a managing partner at DAUS, a project company working on projects of various scales, with experience in the areas of Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on the following themes: creation, architecture, design, urbanism, arts, cultural production, and teaching. She has taught at the FAESA University Center and the Vila Velha University – UVV. She is a consultant for SEBRAE/ES. She created and coordinated, as part of a group, the volunteer cultural project “From the Center”. She was honored by CAU/ES in 2020 for her technical production. She coordinated the project “Baía de Vitória: Other Possible Margins” (2025).

Patricia Bragatto: Patricia Bragatto is an Architect and Urban Planner from the Federal University of Espírito Santo. Currently, she is part of the Instituto Pedra team and oversees the restoration and modernization work of Warehouse 04 in the Port of Vitória, the new headquarters of the Museu Vale. She is a specialist in Cultural Management and Policies from the Itaú Cultural Observatory of São Paulo with the University of Girona, Spain. She worked for fifteen years in public cultural management, in the area of ​​Cultural Heritage, at the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of Vitória (SEMC) and at the State Secretariat of Culture (SECULT/ES). She is also a cultural producer and has experience in the areas of music, carnival, visual arts, among others.

Intergenerational Dynamics: Thinking About a New Museum

This activity proposes a reflection on the role of the institution from the concept of social museology, understanding the museum as a space for sharing memories, experiences, and the collective construction of meaning. Art educator Ana Luiza Bringuente was invited to this dialogue, along with the Educational Department of the Museu Vale.

Time: 9 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 4 pm

Ana Luiza Bringuente: Master’s degree in Communication and Semiotics from PUC-SP and Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES). With a career spanning almost two decades in the cultural ecosystem, she has accumulated solid experience in curating, coordinating educational programs, and mediating in prominent Brazilian institutions. She has worked at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, the Fábricas de Cultura in São Paulo, and Sesc Campinas, in addition to having served as curator, Art Education coordinator, and director of the Museu de Arte do Espírito Santo (MAES). Currently, she dedicates herself to developing projects that articulate art and education, prioritizing participatory practices and formative processes in exhibition spaces.


May 23rd (Saturday)

HeptaSopro Show – Origins

The HeptaSopro – Origins show presents a repertoire of 12 original compositions by flautist Matheus Viana, performed by the trio formed by Matheus Viana (flute), Luciano Furtado (7-string guitar), and Samuel Nascimento (drums). The project seeks to strengthen the contemporary instrumental music scene in Espírito Santo, uniting the tradition of Brazilian popular expressions with the experimentalism of jazz. The show is a fusion between the classical instrumentation of choro and contemporary drumming.
